Helping Individuals and Families Battle Addictions
Breaking the Chains is a weekly gathering focused on helping men and women and their families work through the issues of addiction, restoration, and recovery. Each gathering is full of encouragement, truth, and wisdom as this special community challenges each other, prays for one another, and helps each other through whatever stage they are in on the journey towards recovery. Using biblical principles inside biblical community, Breaking the Chains has been the tool for dozens and dozens to break free from the chains of addiction.
Breaking the Chains meets every Thursday night at 6:00pm at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. Parking is in the back of the building and please enter the Kids' Ministry Entrance. For questions or more information, please contact Jason Miller by e-mail at [email protected].
What others are saying about Breaking the Chains:
- "Are you struggling with an addict? As a parent of an addict, I faced many challenges, anger, self-doubt, and blamed myself for his/her addiction. BTC is a place for you to find others who have and are walking a similar path. You are not alone in this fight; we are here for you. Let us help you find peace in the mist of the storm."
- "I grew up in a home with an addict. I married into an alcoholic family and have had child in addiction. Over the years I have felt many different
emotions, from shame to helplessness to being all alone. Becoming a part of BTC has helped me deal with those feelings. I have come to understand I am not the only person that deals with the heartbreak of family addiction. Once a week for one hour I sit in a room with like people that assures me what I say stays there. I have learned that my voice my even help the mom, daughter, son, or father sitting next to me. It’s hard to take that first step. But, after taking the first one you will find there are many ready to help you with your next one."
