Each Sunday at Geyer Springs, there are two opportunities available to build believers in the faith. First, the church meets in a large group for Corporate Worship. During Corporate Worship, we sing, pray, give, sit under the preaching of God’s Word, and frequently experience testimonies, baptisms and the Lord’s Supper. Secondly, the church gathers together in smaller groups known as Sunday School. We invite every attender and member of Geyer Springs to experience the following five benefits of biblical community through Sunday School:
1. Scripture: In Sunday School, you study the truths of God’s Word. Romans 15:14: “I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.”
2. Support: In Sunday School, you care for one another in the difficult seasons of life. Galatians 6:2: “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
3. Supplication: In Sunday School, you pray for one another’s needs. James 5:16: “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.”
4. Service: In Sunday School, you serve one another in the class and in the community. I Peter 4:10: “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.”
5. Sharing: In Sunday School, you share life together with friends. I John 1:7: “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
There are a variety of available groups to visit. Please remember that each of these groups are designed for: “unity, not uniformity.” This means that while all of the groups are unified around providing the five benefits of biblical community, each one will look differently in the size, style, and study. The best next step is to begin visiting classes. As you do, pray that the Lord will guide you to a class that you can bless and one that you will a blessing to you.
