On October 15, Pastor Dave announced the vision to lead Geyer Springs into one unified worship service starting January 7, 2024.  (You may watch his announcement below.)

This announcement comes after many months of prayer, discussion, and consideration for our church and the future of Geyer Springs.  Simply, we are better together.  Following the model of the early church and their devotion to a “together” mindset (Acts 2:42-47) we are compelled to bring our worship services together to strengthen our approach to making disciples, serving the community, and leaning back into our multigenerational passion.

Below are the commitments of our staff as we move forward into this new season, as well as answers to a common questions we’ve received.  If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to [email protected].

THE MISSION OF CORPORATE WORSHIP
is to glorify God and edify the body of Christ. Ephesians 5:18-19; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 10:24-25

THE VISION OF ONE UNIFIED WORSHIP SERVICE is to provide a worship gathering in an engaging environment of excellence that provides opportunities to preach God’s Word and authentically celebrate God’s goodness through song, prayer, testimony, and giving. Our hope in any worship gathering is to provide engaging environment of excellence that provides opportunities to preach God’s Word and authentically celebrate God’s goodness through song, prayer, testimony, and giving. As we move into one service on January 7, 2024, we are committed to the following:

UNITY
Our greatest opportunity for kingdom impact occurs under the banner of biblical unity. Attempting to provide multiple worship environments on one campus divides our resources, our efforts, and our strategy. Worshipping together strengthens our ministry, our people, and our vision to reach the community.

LEADERSHIP
We are committed to using and developing musical leaders of all generations and talents. We believe this is best expressed as the platform looks like our congregation in a variety of ways: age, dress, and gender. We are committed to using musicians from our Venue Service and our Worship Center Service every week.

ENVIRONMENT
We are committed to a community-friendly environment in our worship service. Therefore, our attitude around food and drink in the worship center is not one of carelessness, but one of strategy as we believe they are tools to build community. We also see children in the worship center not as distractions, but as the promise of our future. We want all who attend worship to feel welcomed regardless of attire or how they express themselves in worship.

STYLE
We are committed to every worship attender experiencing elements of worship they can appreciate. We are also committed to using the musical gifts and talents of our church family. Therefore, we will sing songs led by all our musical teams: worship band, orchestra, and choir and all groups will flex according to how each element fits into the weekly worship service.
